Therapy Fees & Insurance

Which core services do you offer?

1

I offer online psychotherapy for adults in California and Florida, as well as psychotherapy for clients in the UK. I also work with many Americans and other expats living abroad.

Depending on your location and insurance plan, you may be able to use in-network benefits, out-of-network benefits, or international health insurance toward the cost of therapy.

Therapy Fees

50-minute psychotherapy session: $210

A limited number of reduced-fee spaces may be available. Please contact me to discuss current availability.

In-Network Insurance — California

I am an in-network therapist with UnitedHealthcare (UHC) and Optum in California.

If you have a UnitedHealthcare or Optum plan, your psychotherapy sessions may be covered according to your individual plan benefits, including any applicable deductible, copay, or coinsurance.

Coverage and eligibility vary by plan, so benefits should be verified before beginning treatment.

In-Network Insurance — Florida

I am an in-network therapist with UnitedHealthcare (UHC), Optum, and Aetna in Florida for online psychotherapy.

Your individual responsibility will depend on your specific insurance plan, deductible, copay, and coinsurance.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) — Samata Health

I also provide psychotherapy through Samata Health’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

If your employer offers mental health benefits through Samata Health, you may be eligible for a set number of therapy sessions covered through your workplace benefit.

The number of sessions available and eligibility requirements are determined by your employer’s specific Samata Health plan. Please check your benefits through Samata Health to confirm your coverage before scheduling.

Once your EAP-covered sessions have been used, we can discuss options for continuing therapy.

International Health Insurance & Superbills While Living Abroad

If you are an American or an expat living abroad, your international health insurance plan may provide coverage for psychotherapy.

I can provide appropriate documentation or superbills for clients with eligible international insurance plans to submit directly to their insurer for possible reimbursement.

This may include plans such as Cigna International and Bupa International, as well as other international or expatriate health insurance policies.

Coverage varies considerably between international plans, so I recommend contacting your insurer before beginning therapy to confirm your psychotherapy or mental health benefits and whether treatment with an independently practicing psychotherapist is eligible for reimbursement.

Questions About Fees or Insurance?

Insurance can be confusing, particularly when you are living between countries or using an international health plan.

If you are considering therapy and aren't sure whether your insurance may cover sessions, you are welcome to contact me with the name of your insurance provider and plan. We can determine the appropriate next step before you begin.Out-of-Network Therapy Benefits

If I am not in network with your insurance company, you may still have out-of-network mental health benefits that reimburse you for a portion of the cost of psychotherapy.

Out-of-Network Therapy Benefits

I use Thrizer to help eligible clients access their out-of-network insurance benefits. Thrizer can help determine your benefits and streamline the process of submitting claims for reimbursement.

The amount reimbursed depends on your individual insurance policy and out-of-network benefits.
